Although at first glance they appear to be quite high in calories and in fat, most nuts and seeds actually contain fairly low levels of saturated fats - the type of fats which are renowned for clogging our arteries.
Instead, they contain high levels of 'good' fats such as omega 3 and omega 6, which can help to keep your heart healthy and are important for maintaining brain function and healthy joints. Nuts and seeds are also a good source of protein, iron and fiber.
