Easter Nests
These Easter nests are a great way of using up any leftover chocolate and Easter eggs. Essentially it's just a basic chocolate crispies recipe, but with some mini eggs sprinkled on top. They really are so quick and easy to make, and so are simply perfect for little children who love to help out in the kitchen!
Preparation Time 15 minutes - Chilling Time 1 hour - Makes 8-10 Easter nests
Ingredients 225g chocolate, broken into small pieces 50g rice crispies 50g butter 2 tablespoons of golden syrup Mini eggs to decorate
Method 1. Melt the chocolate, butter and golden syrup in a bowl over a pan of gently simmering water. 2. Once melted, carefully remove the bowl from the pan and stir in the rice crispies. 3. Divide the mixture equally between some paper cases and press a few mini eggs into the tops of each. Chill for an hour.
Variations You could also use cornflakes instead of rice crispies, or stir in a handful of raisins to the chocolate crispies mixture.
Top Tip These sweet treats really are so simple to make there's no real extra tips needed here!
Nutrition Nugget Well, I'm a little more hard-pushed to find some nutritional benefits with this particular recipe! However, what I will say is that they taste absolutely yummy, and a little bit of what you fancy is good for you in moderation from time to time! :)
