Vegetarian Health News
When I first announced that I was becoming a vegetarian, my mum was especially worried about the effects of not eating meat on my health. In particular, she was concerned that I wouldn’t be getting enough nutrients, vitamins and proteins if I cut meat, fish and poultry out of my diet completely.
On the other hand, I had several other people telling me about lots of different vegetarian health benefits – for example, that a diet which was based mainly on plant foods was generally much lower in saturated fat and lower in cholesterol than those which included animal products.
So I decided that the best thing was for me to do a little bit of research and see for myself whether these various vegetarian health benefits were true, or whether my mum had been right all along (as she frequently has been about many other things!:))
